WP-20G Wave Processor
The Boss WP-20G Wave Processor is a rare and specialized guitar effects pedal from the Boss Twin Pedal series, manufactured between 2001 and 2004. Unlike standard pedals, it is designed specifically for GK-equipped guitars, requiring a 13-pin connector or a Roland GK-2A pickup to function. This unique requirement allows the pedal to perform hexaphonic wave processing, reshaping the guitar signal into six distinct synth-type waveforms: Saw Lead, Square, Ring Mod, Slow Gear, Sitar, and Acoustic. Beyond its core synthesis, the WP-20G features 11 different modulation and delay effects, including chorus and doubling textures. The interface follows a vintage approach with simple, knob-based controls for on-the-fly adjustments. A Color knob provides further tonal shaping, while the Level knob allows musicians to blend the dry signal with the processed sound. Housed in a rugged dual-pedal chassis, the WP-20G remains a cult favorite for its ability to produce thick, "old-school" guitar-synth tones.
