Lüm - Texture Engine
The Walrus Audio Lüm is a captivating texture engine that blends the mesmerizing elements of granular synthesis and reverb design. This limited-edition pedal draws upon the acclaimed Slö, Lore, and Fable models, fusing their unique sonic qualities into a singular platform for experimental ambient tones. Offering three distinct textural modes, the Lüm empowers musicians to sculpt immersive, shifting soundscapes. "Grain Cloud" employs dual granular taps to generate glitch-like textures, while "Grain Verb" places those grains within a reverb algorithm for expansive, reverb-washed atmospheres. The "Forward Reverse Verb" mode cascades a forward reverb into a reverse reverb, with the Stretch control altering the rhythmic interplay. Each mode can be further shaped with decay, filter, mix, and stretch parameters, allowing deep customization of the pedal's granular reverb textures. Real-time automation via the Moment control adds dynamic movement, allowing the player to glide between values of the five primary knobs. The global Stretch Engine also interacts uniquely with the pedal's various controls, introducing captivating sample rate manipulations. Complemented by the original artwork of Emily Ursä, the compact Lüm provides three onboard presets for seamless live use. Guitarists exploring the boundaries of ambient and experimental music will find this limited-edition texture engine an invaluable tool for crafting lush, evolving soundscapes.
