Sireko Tape delay
The Maestro Sireko is a vintage solid-state tape delay unit manufactured in the United States during the late 1960s and 1970s. Often described as a simplified, more affordable version of the legendary Echoplex EP-3, it was marketed under the Maestro brand, which was Gibson's effects division at the time. The Sireko delivers authentic, warm analog echo tones but lacks the "sound-on-sound" looping feature found on high-end Echoplex models. Technically, the unit utilizes a unique tape transport system and a specialized tape cartridge to produce its signature modulation and organic saturation. It features a straightforward control layout, including sliders or knobs for delay time, sustain (repeats), and echo volume. Its "space echo" style transport allows for easy tape replacement and contributes to the lush, soft modulation sought after for 1960s psychedelic and 1970s classic rock tones. Despite its simplified design, it retains the celebrated Echoplex-style preamp, making it a favorite for adding vintage character to any signal.
