The Shin's Music MK-1 Overdrive is a premium, hand-made-in-Japan pedal designed to capture the legendary tones of the Mesa/Boogie Mark I amplifier in a compact "amp-in-a-box" format. Built by master engineer Shinichi Suzuki, it is celebrated for replicating the rich, creamy, full-bodied gain and compressed sustain made famous by players like Carlos Santana, Robben Ford, and Larry Carlton. The core controls include Gain, Tone, and Master for dialing in a wide spectrum of drive sounds, from subtle, sweet overdrive to heavy saturation. Its defining feature is the two-position SHIFT switch, which acts as a versatile tone selector. The NORMAL position provides a sound rich in overtones that is responsive to picking dynamics. The SHIFT position cuts high-end overtones to create the highly sought-after "Woman Tone," which naturally feeds back and allows a bridge pickup to sound similar to a neck pickup without rolling down the guitar's tone knob.
