Bellows Fuzz Driver Legacy Reissue
EarthQuaker Devices has retired plenty of beloved circuits over the years, and few departures stung fuzz devotees more than the Bellows. With the Bellows Fuzz Driver Legacy Reissue, EQD inaugurates its Legacy Reissue program by bringing back this two-knob wonder as a limited run of 1,000 units — compact, US-exclusive through Sweetwater (with Canadian units via Long & McQuade), and every bit as raw as the original. The Bellows concept is beautifully simple: Level and Drive, nothing else. But the circuit's response is what made it a cult favorite. At low drive settings it behaves like a tweed amp on the verge of collapse — hairy, dynamic grit that responds to pick attack and guitar volume like a good vintage amplifier. Crank the Drive and it crosses over into blown-speaker fuzz territory: thick, torn-paper saturation with a woolly low end and enough output to shove any amp around. That amp-like continuum from tweed grind to full fuzz is why EQD called it a 'fuzz driver' rather than picking a side. There are no clipping diodes in the traditional sense — the dirt comes from cascaded gain hitting the rails naturally, which keeps the sound open and uncompressed where many fuzzes flatten out. As a limited resurrection of a discontinued classic, it doubles as a collector's item, but the Bellows was always a player's pedal first: plug in, turn both knobs up, and let the enclosure art's billowing forge do the talking.
